Kendyl Delyse: Celebrating Boldness and Individuality in the World of Jewelry
Kendyl’s journey to founding Delyse wasn’t born in a big city studio or on a glamorous runway—it started in the quiet suburbs of Chicago. Growing up in Lynwood, Country Club Hills, and Calumet City, Kendyl's connection to both the calm of suburban life and the energy of Chicago shaped her creative path. Today, as the founder and creative director of Delyse, she blends those influences into a jewelry brand rooted in artistry, community, and a deep love for her hometown.
Her journey into fashion began in high school when she took a fashion class at Thornwood High School. A tour of Columbia College Chicago introduced her to the world of fashion merchandising, and it was there that Kendyl realized she could turn her passion into a career. After earning her bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising from Columbia, she honed her skills, built connections, and dove deeper into the world of fashion and design.
Inspired by legendary designers like Paco Rabanne and Alexander McQueen, Kendyl gravitates toward unconventional materials, much like they did in their time. But her biggest influence comes from her own culture—Black culture. Growing up, she was surrounded by women in her family who wore bold, statement-making jewelry, including her grandmother, the queen of maximalist jewelry. Her grandmother’s style has played a pivotal role in shaping Kendyl’s own design philosophy.
Through Delyse, Kendyl has built a brand that’s not just about jewelry—it’s about creating pieces that foster individuality and empower others to express themselves. “Creating isn’t just about making jewelry—it’s about building connections, celebrating individuality, and inspiring others to embrace their own creativity,” she says.

Kendyl’s work is a reflection of her desire to inspire others—especially those who share her background. “I want people who look like me or share a similar background to see what’s possible when you follow your creativity,” she explains.
Kendyl Delyse’s creative journey is just beginning, but already her work has made an impact on those lucky enough to experience it. As she continues to grow her brand and expand her artistic vision, one thing is clear: she is creating with purpose, passion, and a deep connection to her roots. Chicago, her family, her culture—these are the things that fuel her creativity and drive her to make pieces that are not just worn, but cherished.
As Kendyl continues to share her story and designs with the world, her message is clear: creativity knows no bounds, and everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and celebrated through art.
